Warren Miller was born on April 30, 1937, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and passed away on November 18, 2015, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. His lifelong passion for radio and music began at the age of 13 when he started working for a radio station in Arlington, Virginia. In addition to his work in radio advertising, where he wrote and produced commercials, Miller was a guitar and country music performer. He was the first artist to record under contract with United Artists and made several appearances on Dick Clark's American Bandstand. His music, known as rock-a-billy, continues to have fans as far away as Western Europe. In 1962, Warren moved to Virginia Beach with Marge and George Crump to start WCMS Country Music Radio Station. He later founded the American Broadcasting School at WCMS and the D'Arcy Recording Label. Blending his radio and musical careers, he opened Studio Center Corporation in 1966, which became the first independent production facility between Washington D.C. and Charlotte, N.C. Studio Center eventually expanded to have numerous studios from Norfolk, VA, to Las Vegas, Nevada. Miller sold the business in 2004, and Studio Center continues to flourish to this day.
