Wayne Walker was an American country and rockabilly singer and songwriter, born on December 13, 1925, in Quapaw, Oklahoma. He passed away on January 2, 1979, in Nashville, Tennessee. Married to the daughter of a notable figure, he had a daughter named Capri Walker. Throughout his career, Walker wrote over 500 songs and received more than 20 BMI songwriting awards. He worked various jobs, including vacuum cleaner salesman, fire escape salesman, car salesman, and roofer, while pursuing his music career. As a songwriter, he achieved 88 charted songs in the U.S., including one in the U.K., between 1956 and 1988. His most notable hit was the #1 country song "All the Time," performed by Jack Greene in 1967, which he co-wrote with Mel Tillis. In 1958, "Are You Sincere?" by Andy Williams reached #3 overall in the U.S. Walker had 26 country hits in the top 10 and 15 in the top 5. He collaborated with Mel Tillis on 20 of his charted songs and with Webb Pierce on 12. Notably, he never charted as a singer. His current songwriting affiliation is with BMI, IPI #: 32428999.
