WC3 was formed in 1979 and was known for their sound, which drew comparisons to bands like the Stranglers and Marquis De Sade. Initially part of the underground scene, they quickly distinguished themselves by signing a three-album contract with CBS, a major label. However, CBS's inadequate promotion led to poor sales and rising tensions between the band and the label. After fulfilling their contractual obligations, the band faced a tragic setback when guitarist and keyboardist Janine committed suicide in 1984. This, along with their negative experiences during their time with CBS, ultimately led to the dissolution of the group that same year, before they could pursue a new label.
