Webley Edwards was an American radio show host born on November 11, 1902, in Corvallis, Oregon. He passed away on October 5, 1977, in Honolulu, Hawaii. In 1928, Edwards relocated to Honolulu, where he developed a strong interest in Native Hawaiian musical traditions. He became the producer of the influential radio show Hawaii Calls in 1935, gaining fame for his live performance broadcasts from Hawaii, which peaked in popularity during the 1950s and 1960s. From 1937 onward, he was assisted by a musical director. Edwards' influence extended beyond radio; he served in the Hawaiian Territorial and State Legislature from 1952 to 1966 and was a Hawaiian State Senator from 1966 to 1968.
