**When In Rome Bio** When In Rome was an English new wave group active in the late 1980s, best known for their hit songs "The Promise" and "Heaven Knows." "The Promise" was first released as a 12" record in 1987, reaching the top of the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. However, the 7" version released later that year did not achieve significant success. After the release of their self-titled album, the song was remixed by producers Ben Rogan and Richard James Burgess, leading to its peak at No. 11 on the US charts, while it performed poorly in the UK, peaking at No. 86 and later at No. 58. In 1989, the group released their second single, "Heaven Knows," which failed to chart on Billboard's Pop chart, reaching only No. 95. It did, however, peak at No. 14 on the US Dance Billboard chart. Their third single, "Everything," did not chart in either the UK or the US, and their final single, "Sight of Your Tears," peaked at No. 40 on the US Dance Billboard Chart. The group disbanded shortly after being dropped by Virgin Records in 1993, with members Farrington and Mann firing the third member, Floreale, over creative differences. Interest in the group resurfaced in 2003 when "The Promise" was featured
