White Fence is the solo project of musician Tim Presley, who primarily handles vocals, guitar, and various instruments. The project began in the late 2000s while Presley was still a member of the band Darker My Love. He recorded the debut self-titled album, White Fence, between 2008 and 2009, which was released in 2010 on Make-A-Mess Records, marking the project's emergence. Although some sources suggest that White Fence started around 2009–2010, it is closely associated with the San Francisco music scene, where Presley lived during much of its early development. Originally from the Los Angeles area, he has also resided in San Francisco and Los Angeles, with the project featuring lineups connected to both cities over time.
