William Bell is a renowned singer, songwriter, and producer born on July 16, 1939, in Memphis, Tennessee. He began his musical journey as a teenager, performing in various bands and releasing his first record in 1957 with the local Meteor label. Bell developed his songwriting career at the legendary Stax label, playing a significant role in the evolution of the Stax sound. In 1961, he released his first solo hit, "You Don't Miss Your Water (Til the Well Runs Dry)," which became one of the early successes for the label. After being drafted in 1963, he served two years in the Army. In 1967, he released his first solo album and continued to produce four more albums for the label. In 1969, Bell moved to Atlanta and started his own label. In the mid-1970s, he signed with Mercury Records, where he released two albums. His biggest career hit came in 1977 with "Trying To Love Two," which sold over two million copies and remained on the R&B charts for more than six months. After releasing one album in 1983, he founded his own record company, where he continued to release music into the 2000s. Throughout his career, Bell has recorded successful duets with various artists. He was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in 1997 and received the Rhythm and Blues Foundation's R&B Pioneer Award the same year. In
