William Blake was an English poet, painter, and print-maker, born on November 28, 1757, in Soho, London, England. He passed away on August 12, 1827, in the same area. Although largely unrecognized during his lifetime, Blake's work is now regarded as seminal and significant in the history of both poetry and the visual arts.
