Willie K was a talented musician from Hawaii, known for his diverse repertoire that included traditional Hawaiian music, "Jawaiian" (Hawaii-influenced reggae), rock, jazz, and operatic arias. He was proficient in various string instruments, such as guitar, ukulele, and mandolin, and was recognized for his own arrangements for himself and other Hawaii artists, particularly Amy Hanaiali'i. Born on October 17, 1960, he received a Nā Hōkū Hanohano Lifetime Achievement Award from the Hawaiʻi Academy of Recording Arts. Willie K passed away on May 18, 2020.
