Willie Mitchell

Willie Mitchell was a talented trumpeter, producer, composer, arranger, and bandleader, born on March 23, 1928, in Ashland, Mississippi. He passed away from a heart attack on January 5, 2010, in Memphis, Tennessee. Mitchell co-owned a music label from 1970 to 1979 and founded another label in the 1980s. He also owned and operated a business in Tennessee. He was the brother of an unnamed individual, the stepfather of another, and the father of Lawrence "Boo" Mitchell.
