Willis Gator Jackson, born on April 25, 1932, in Miami, Florida, was an American jazz and rhythm and blues tenor saxophonist. He was known for his work with various artists, including the singer to whom he was married. Jackson, who was affectionately nicknamed "Gator" or "Gator Tail," passed away on October 25, 1987, in New York City, New York.
