Winged Wheel is an indie supergroup formed by Whitney Johnson (Matchess, Damiana), Cory Plump (Spray Paint, Expensive Shit), Matthew J. Rolin (Powers/Rolin Duo), Fred Thomas (Idle Ray, Tyvek), and Steve Shelley (Sonic Youth). This unique collaboration emerged as five artists, who have crossed paths over the years, came together during quarantine to create music in a long-distance format. Their project developed casually through Instagram DMs, resulting in an incredible band that seemingly appeared out of nowhere with minimal effort.
