Winston Jarrett is a Jamaican reggae singer born on September 14, 1940. He was a member of the group Flames, known for early classics such as "Cry Tough," "Dance Crasher," "The Preacher," and "I Have Got A Date." The Flames initially recorded for Duke Reid before being lured away by Sir Coxsone. In 1969, Alton moved to England, and Winston reformed the group as The Righteous Flames. Throughout his career, Winston has released 17 albums and numerous solo and compilation recordings. He has provided backing for artists such as Ken Boothe, Marcia Griffiths, and Winston Francis, and has also collaborated with Enid Cumberland and Larry Marshall. During the early seventies, Winston recorded over a hundred titles for producers like Joe Gibbs and Lee 'Scratch' Perry. He also ran several record labels.
