Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was a prolific and highly influential composer of classical music, born on January 27, 1756, in Salzburg, and died on December 5, 1791, in Vienna. He was the son of a musician and produced an enormous output of more than six hundred compositions, which include works widely acknowledged as pinnacles of symphonic, chamber, piano, operatic, and choral music. Mozart remains one of the most enduringly popular European composers, with many of his works part of the standard concert repertoire. He was married and had two children, including his first son, Karl Thomas Mozart, and his last son before his death.
