Nathaniel J. Wood is a versatile musician, instrument maker, scholar, and educator specializing in historical brass instruments. A graduate of Oberlin Conservatory, he earned master's degrees in historical performance from Case Western Reserve University and the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. Wood is a founding member of the Renaissance wind band Mandragora and the chamber ensemble Habsburger Camerata, performing across Europe with groups like Concerto Palatino and Les Haulz et les Bas. An accomplished instrument maker, he has crafted replicas of historical trombones, including a Viennese tenor trombone by Hanns Geyer from 1676.
