Woody Guthrie was an American singer-songwriter and guitarist, born on July 14, 1912, in Okemah, Oklahoma. He is renowned for his extensive musical legacy, which includes hundreds of political, traditional, and children's songs, along with ballads and improvised works. Guthrie passed away on October 3, 1967, at Creedmoor State Hospital in Queens, New York. He was the older brother of someone unspecified and was married to his second wife from November 13, 1945, until 1953, during which he became the son-in-law of someone unspecified. Together, they had four children, including Cathy Ann (1943-1947). He was also a grandfather to Arlo's children and Nora's daughter, though their names are not provided. Additionally, Guthrie was a cousin of someone unspecified. He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1970 and into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988 as an Early Influence.
