Woody McBride is a DJ, producer, and event promoter hailing from Bismarck, North Dakota. He moved to Minneapolis in 1988, where he began his career at a legendary nightclub as a protégé of one of the USA's most influential club and radio DJ personalities. During this time, he connected with a pioneer who provided studio tips that helped him launch his music production career on labels such as EX, Labworks, and Adam & Eve. McBride is known for defining his own 303 music sound and hosting some of the Midwest's most epic underground electronic music events. In 1995, after seeing Daft Punk open for him at Rex Club in Paris, he brought the duo to the USA for the first time in 1996, alongside his label mate and co-promoter Kurt Eckes of Drop Bass Network. Together, they established Drop Bass Network records, which played a pivotal role in defining the Midwest American techno sound through vinyl releases and the Furthur event series. Eventually, McBride ventured out on his own, founding Communiqué Records USA and taking a break from event promotion. Communiqué became an essential record label in the history of electronic music, bringing hundreds of artists and tracks to the forefront. McBride is celebrated for his tracks on the Basketball Heroes EPs #1 & #2, the Rattlesnake EP, Everything Under The Sun, and many more. His music has garnered praise from techno luminaries such as Dave Clarke, Frankie Bones
