X Marks the Pedwalk is a band that was founded in 1987 by André Schmechta and his school friend Jörg Schmechta. Initially, they used a different name before adopting their current one. The duo created several notable tracks including "Black Door" (Scarecrow), "Arbitrary Execution," "Danger/Disease Control," "Abattoir," "Freaks," and "Cenotaph." After their collaboration, both André and Jörg left the band, and André's brother, Thorsten Schmechta, joined as a replacement. In the late 1990s, André Schmechta shifted his focus away from X Marks the Pedwalk to prioritize his family and career. The band made a comeback in late 2009 or early 2010, releasing a new album and single, and performing live shows throughout 2010.
