X-Ray Pop, stylized as X-RAY POP, is a French underground electro-pop group formed in 1984 in Tours, Indre-et-Loire by Didier Doc Pilot and Zouka Dzaza (Isabelle de Saint Loup). The group gained recognition for their various albums released on independent labels, with their single "El Gato" being named record of the month in both Melody Maker and New Musical Express. Regarded as a cult group, X-Ray Pop has influenced notable acts such as La Femme, Stereolab, and the Beastie Boys. On April 2, 2021, they released a live album in tribute to their bassist Patrick Gicquel, who passed away in 2019 at the age of 48; the album was recorded at the Rockomotives festival in Vendôme in 2020.
