**Xasthur Bio** Xasthur is a one-man black metal project formed in the United States in December 1995 by Malefic (Scott Conner). Initially, the project went through several lineup changes, with various members being kicked out after a few rehearsal tapes were made. In 1999, Malefic collaborated with a musician named Mike, and they released a split MCD with Orosius. Mike contributed drums and vocals, while Malefic handled guitar and bass. However, due to limited funding and only 20 minutes of recording, the release was deemed unworthy of distribution, leading to Mike's departure. In 2001, Xasthur transitioned to a one-man project, with Malefic taking full control of the music. On August 28, 2009, he announced plans to release albums through his own label, Disharmonic Variations, stating that Xasthur would no longer participate in split releases. On March 26, 2010, Malefic declared "Portal of Sorrow" would be the final Xasthur release, indicating that his next project would explore genres outside of metal. However, in 2015, he announced that the name Xasthur would be repurposed for a new acoustic project. **Line-up:** - Malefic (Scott Conner) - drums, guitars (6 & 12 string), bass, piano, keyboards, music, lyrics, voice **Former
