Yashlyk is an ensemble that plays a pivotal role in the Uighur people's stage, having been established in the USSR in 1973 at the State Republican Uighur Theater. The founder of the ensemble serves as its artistic director and vocalist and is currently a deputy in the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
