Yumi Murata (村田有美) is a vocal coach and former singer, born on July 10, 1957, in Suginami, Tokyo. She graduated from the Department of Music Education at Kunitachi College of Music. Active as a singer from the late 1970s until the late 1980s, she established the Murata Yumi Vocal Training Room in 1991, where she has been teaching ever since.
