Zalatnay Sarolta is a Hungarian vocalist born on December 14, 1947, in Budapest, Hungary. She first appeared on stage in 1963 and gained recognition in 1966 when she finished second in the Hungarian Television's song contest, Táncdalfesztivál, with the song "Hol jár az eszem?". In 1967, she won the contest with "Nem várok holnapig," accompanied by a Hungarian rock group. During her tours in London in 1968 and 1969, she became acquainted with the members of the group. Zalatnay won the first prize at Táncdalfesztivál in 1971 with "Fák, virágok, fény" (Trees, flowers, light). In her prime, she also appeared in several Hungarian movies in smaller roles.
