Zegunder is an electronic duo comprised of Alosha Tzinovoy and Gil Cohen. Alosha, originally from Odessa, immigrated to Israel at the age of 8, while Gil was born and raised in Israel. Both artists have a classical music background, with Alosha being a cello player and Gil a pianist. They initially collaborated with friends Aviad Levi and Ohad Ron in a band called Mute, which explored electro-rock and post-rock sounds. During this time, Gil began writing trance tracks, and Alosha developed an interest in more intimate acoustic music, recording songs with a psychedelic influence reminiscent of Syd Barrett and Roky Erickson. Eventually, they formed the duo Zegunder, focusing on experimental electronics and a blend of acoustics and electronics. Their creative efforts culminated in the release of their debut EP, the self-titled Zegunder EP, available on 7" (limited to 100 numbered copies) and CD.
