Zhao Cong is the Pipa Principal of the China National Traditional Orchestra and a National Class One Musician. She serves as a committee member of the All-China Youth Federation and is a consultant to the arts troupes of Peking University. Notably, she was the first artist-scholar to visit Stanford University and has been recognized as the 'Maestro Performer of International World Music Instruments' by Arts Council San Jose, where she also holds the positions of councilor and senior judge for the San Jose International Art Festival. Zhao has been a judge for various prestigious competitions, including the CCTV Chinese Traditional Music Competition and the International Chinese Traditional Music Competition. She has also participated as a distinguished artist for events such as the Chinese New Year Concert of Ivy League in 2015. Throughout her career, Zhao has received numerous accolades, including the Gold Award at the San Jose International World Music Competition and the Class One Award at the All China Competition for Young Professional Pipa Artists. She was honored with the Award for Contribution to Overseas Promotion – Individual Category by the Ministry of Culture, China. Her discography includes six solo albums, with "Sound of China" being the first instrumental solo album in Chinese music released under the UMG label. One of her original compositions, "Apsaras on the Silk Road" for pipa concerto, won the Grand Prix at the first China National Arts Fund awards.
