Zoon van snooK, whose real name is Alec Snook, is a Bristolian composer, producer, and remixer with roots in Barcelona. Known for his deep love of found sound and field recordings, he adopts a kitchen-sink approach to production, carving a path through traditional composition to become a leading figure in what is known as Oddtronica. His career began with the debut 12" EP, "Interviews & Interludes," released in 2008 on Brighton's Cookshop label, followed by his debut album, "(Falling from) The Nutty Tree," in 2010 on the renowned LA label Mush Records. This album led to the remix collection, "Remixes from The Nutty Tree," in 2012, featuring artists like Tunng, Daedelus, and Cian Ciaran of Super Furry Animals. After an hour mix for Ninja Tune's Solid Steel Radio, ZvS toured live across Europe and North America, culminating in a live session on Tom Robinson's BBC 6 Music show. In 2013, he achieved a breakthrough with "The Bridge Between Life & Death," released on Lo Recordings. This album, built from field recordings made in Iceland in 2009 and featuring collaborations with Icelandic musicians Sin Fang, Benni Hemm Hemm, and the string section of Sigur Rós, expanded his audience, especially after a collaboration with Ulrich Schnauss was showcased at Carolina Herrera's New York
