Zvuki Mu, translated as The Sounds of Moo, is a Russian experimental rock and post-punk band founded in Moscow in 1983. The band has undergone various line-ups and explored a range of musical styles, including experimental (1983–1987), psychedelic rock (1988–1991), post-punk (1993–1997), and lo-fi/freak folk (1998–2005). The early formation of Zvuki Mu included Pyotr Mamonov, Alexey Bortnichuk, Alexander Lipnitsky, Pavel Hotin, Alexander Alexandrov, Mikhail Zhukov, and Karen Sarkisov. The "canonical" line-up from 1986 to 1990 featured Pyotr Mamonov, Alexey Bortnichuk, Alexander Lipnitsky, Pavel Hotin, and Alexey Pavlov. From 1993 to 1996, the second line-up consisted of Pyotr Mamonov, Alexey Bortnichuk, Yevgeniy Kazantsev, and Andrey Nadolskiy. Since 1997, the band has been known as OtZvuki Mu, with Alexey Bortnichuk, Alexander Lipnitsky, Pavel Hotin, Alexey Pavlov, and Alexander "Fagot" Alexandrov, along with a rotating cast of vocalists.
