Big Sandy is an American singer, songwriter, and bandleader with an intense passion for collecting vintage vinyl. A childhood affection for Country, Doo-Wop, Soul, and Rhythm and blues records led Sandy (born Robert Williams) to pursue a singing career as a teenager, beginning a life in music that continues decades later with his band Big Sandy and his Fly-Rite Boys. An almost constant touring schedule across the USA and abroad has given him the opportunity to scour the junk shops, garage sales, and record stores of the world in search of vinyl treasures of all musical styles. His personal record collection has grown beyond 75,000 (and counting), and now, Big Sandy is eager to share some of the sounds that have moved him the most.
