Joe Muggs is best known as a music writer. Since 2000, he has worked for the likes of Mixmag, WIRE, FACT, RA, The Guardian, The Daily Telegraph, theartsdesk, Bandcamp Daily and Boiler Room - and published 'Bass, Mids, Tops: An Oral History of Soundsystem Culture' (with photographer Brian David Stevens) at the end of 2019, and 'Crosstown Rebels - 20 Years Of Madness, Magic and Music' in 2023. He also brings to the table experience as a DJ, commercial copywriter, electronic musician, educator, album compiler (Ninja Tune's 'Grime 2.0', Ministry's 'Adventures in Dubstep & Beyond'), A&R, label manager, and ambient cabaret promoter.
